Getting Started

Scott's Box Shot Maker allows you to design box and book jacket designs. You can create a colorful image of the box in which your product would be packaged if it were on the shelf at a software store.

You can use existing logos and promotional images to create a virtual box, whether or not you have already designed your packaging. You can also export your virtual box to most standard image formats. This is useful if you want to provide an image of your software in an online store.

When you first open Scott's Box Shot Maker, take the following steps to get started:

Important

  • Before you begin, you must create images for the front, sides, and top of your box in other software. Your images can be any standard image format such as PNG, JPEG, BMP, PCX, PSD, SGI, BMP, RAS, TGA, or TIF, in various color depths.
  1. Click File > New Box.
  2. Enter the appropriate settings in Scott's Box Shot Maker Wizard.
  3. After you have completed the wizard, a preview image of your box appears in the Preview box of the main window. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Box Properties tab to change the Box Orientation, Box Scale, or Box Dimension settings.
    • Click the Select Box Image tab to view a layout of your box.

    Tip

    • To restore the original dimensions, scale, or orientation of the box design, click the Reset button.
